i would love to have the option to install AMP on another port in the installer. Not the forced 8080 port.

You can specify a different port by either editing the script, or by using the custom setup which lets you specify a custom port (see the help for ampinstmgr quickstart)
The installer is also smart enough to not use port 8080 if it's in use, it'll keep increasing the port until it finds a free port. If there's a particular application you use that runs on 8080 then if you run it during the AMP setup it'll know to avoid it.
