This is on AMP 2.3.1.

If you create a new Minecraft Java Edition instance, which is currently 1.18.x - the required Java is 17 (35). If you click on the Java properties page it will show Java 17 (35) however it will launch with an older version and fail. You have to change it to Java 8, save changes, then back to Java 17, save changes for it to take effect. Looks like a simple UX bug displaying the wrong version of what is actually set on a new instance.
